In this class we’ll make Cobweb Brooms and learn a craft that has been around for hundreds of years. These long sweeping brooms were traditionally used to get rid of cobwebs, but in the alternative make great gifts and beautiful decorations. In any function, these long, airy brooms are sure to be admired by all! In this hands-on workshop, you will: Learn the Craft: Under guided instruction, learn step-by-step techniques to assemble and decorate your own Cobweb Broom. Assembly involves hand tying your broom corn to the wooden broom handle; making a decorative weave up the handle with string once the broom corn stalks are tied; and then finishing the broom with a simple sewing technique. Take Home Your Creation: Leave with a beautifully crafted Cobweb Broom that is both functional and a work of art, ready to grace your home or gift to a loved one. This broom is great for what it’s named–getting rid of cobwebs– but also makes a lovely gift or beautiful decoration. Whether you're drawn by the broom's rustic, decorative allure or simply eager to learn a new skill, this class promises to be a memorable experience blending tradition, craftsmanship, and creativity. No prior experience is necessary. All supplies are provided for this workshop (+ $15 due at booking). Spaces are limited, so don't wait to book this workshop & embark on the magical journey of broomcraft!
